Where can I find more information on IKON products/ services?

Can I order directly from ASSA ABLOY as an end user?

Can I re-order keys/cylinders in existing secured locks?

Yes. If you are the owner of the security card and present it to your ASSA ABLOY representative as identification, you can re-order keys or cylinders for an existing master key system or individually keyed lock.

I've lost my key. What should I do now?

After losing a key, we recommend replacing the corresponding locking cylinder so that anyone who finds the key cannot use it to open the door without authorisation. We also recommend that you seek advice from your ASSA ABLOY representative and/or police crime prevention guidance centre.

Should I replace the existing locking cylinders when moving in to a new house/apartment?

Yes, we recommend replacing the existing locking cylinders and keys when moving into a new home to ensure that there are no additional keys in circulation. Your ASSA ABLOY representative will be happy to advise you.

How can I protect myself from break-ins?

The key goal is to prolong the time required to break in to your home so that the burglar is deterred and, in the best case scenario, gives up because it takes too long. We therefore recommend locking cylinders with corresponding cylinder cover and drilling protection, that make drilling, picking and other break-in methods significantly more difficult. You should also protect doors and windows in particular with additional security equipment, such as hinge security devices, security fittings with cylinder cover or cross bars. Your ASSA ABLOY representative or responsible police crime prevention guidance centre will be happy to advise you.

If I have lost my security card, can I order a replacement card for individually keyed locks (series)?

No. Because no replacement security cards can be issued for individually keyed locks, we recommend keeping them in a safe place.

My cylinder catches or does not lock. What can I do?

We generally recommend treating our locking cylinders with IKON maintenance spray after 5000 locking cycles and at least twice a year. If faults occur in the locking function, please contact your ASSA ABLOY representative. Your representative may send the faulty goods to our customer service for assessment.

How much overhang in mm can a locking cylinder have or how far can it protrude out of the door?

According to DIN EN 1303 / DIN 18252, a locking cylinder should not protrude out of the door leaf/security fitting by more than 3 mm.

Do IKON external cylinders fit in ABUS rim locks?

The external cylinder .050 fits in old and new ABUS rim locks.

What are the installation and care instructions for cylinders?
